Dualoy 3000/LCX
Dualoy 3000/LCX systems employ a coaxial construction for the pipe wall and specially designed containment fittings. Primary fittings are identical to those used on Dualoy 3000/L. The system provides complete enclosure of the primary system with a low volume interstitial space between layers. This low volume interstice provides early detection of any system problems and eliminates many of the problems associated with size-over-size containment systems (inadvertent gravel inclusion during installation, movement between pipe walls, abrasion, etc.). The coaxial construction also greatly improves (by 4X) the impact resistance of the pipe.
The primary system employs a tapered bell tapered spigot adhesive bonded joint that will hold together while the adhesive cures so further assembly work can be done. Containment connections are made with two-piece clamshell fittings with nuts embedded into one of the pieces for ease of assembly.
Dualoy 3000/LCX can be used for product piping from the tanks to the dispensers, for vapor recovery piping from the dispensers back to the tanks and for vent piping at the tanks. Dualoy 3000/LCX is highly recommended for remote fill piping due to its compact design and ease of sloping from fill point to tank.
Dualoy 3000/LCX is Listed for all fuels including Motor Vehicle Fuels (MV), High Blend fuels (HB), Concentrated fuels (CF) and Aviation and Marine fuels (A&M). E-85 is included in the fuels for which Dualoy 3000/LCX is UL Listed.
Dualoy 3000/LCX is also 'Tracer-Tight Approved' by Praxair.
The 'LCX' contained system has been designed for close make-up and ease of installation
Filament-wound, fiberglass-reinforced pipe with integral liner
Compact fittings dimensions to minimize trench excavation
Ready accessibility to and complete inspectability of primary fittings prior to closure of the containment
Pipe can be "inspected" during test by observing cut end of jacket
Complete testability during installation and at any time thereafter
Dualoy 3000/L
Dualoy 3000/L single wall pipe and fittings can be used for applications such as product lines, vapor recovery lines, remote fill lines and vent lines where single wall installations are allowed by regulations. Dualoy 3000/L can also be used for secondary containment, with a larger size installed over a smaller size of itself or of another pipe system. The primary system employs a tapered bell - tapered spigot adhesive bonded joint that will hold together while the adhesive cures so further assembly work can be done. Containment connections are made with two-piece clamshell fittings with nuts embedded into one of the pieces for ease of assembly.
Dualoy 3000/L is Listed for all fuels including Motor Vehicle Fuels (MV), High Blend fuels (HB), Concentrated fuels (CF) and Aviation and Marine fuels (A&M). E-85 is included in the fuels for which Dualoy 3000/L is UL Listed.
Dualoy 3000/L is also 'Tracer-Tight Approved' by Praxair.
Dualoy 3000/MCX
Dualoy 3000/MCX piping is similar in construction to the 'LCX' product but has been specifically designed to withstand prolonged fire exposure. It is intended and approved for use above ground or over water. Resistance to microbial attack, mildew, sunlight exposure, fire exposure and impact are critical for such systems and 'MCX' is designed with each in mind. Dualoy 3000/MCX is a cost effective solution for contained piping systems at marinas and for aboveground use at terminals or above-ground structures.
The design is MCX differs from LCX only in the inside diameter and thickness of the primary pipe. In order to provide the required fire endurance, Ameron implemented the proven performance from its Marine and Offshore piping systems into the MCX product. The resulting thicker primary pipe is designed to meet the stringent fire endurance requirements of the International Maritime Organization for Level 3 testing. Because the outside diameter of the primary and secondary are the same as those for LCX, the same fittings are used for both. This allows a very easy transition from underground piping to aboveground piping. No transition sump is required.
Underwriters Laboratories has not yet issued a Standard for Marina or Aboveground non-metallic piping. Approvals for MCX are on a case-by-case or state-by state basis.
